Hanging Rotator

Rigid rotator

Finding a hanger for a given boom can be problematic, as there are many different widths, and hole dimentions used on booms on which a rotator is put.  For this reason, a half hanger can be a good solution.  A half hanger provides the portion of the hanger which connects to the rotator (as shown below).   The ears that connect to the boom should be fabricated and welded onto the half hanger, allowing the user to make "ears" which will fit their boom.

The width of the half hanger, as shown in the picture to the right, is correct for the R45 rotator.  The pin size is correct for the R3 as well.  If this hanger is to be used on a R3 Rotator, some method of "shimming" should be used to fill this extra space.  Flat washers work well for this purpose.
